FAQs

  • Acupuncture is a 2000 year old system of medicine that originated in China. It uses the insertion of hair-thin sterile, single-use stainless steel needles into specific acupuncture points located on the body. The stimulation of acupuncture points balances the body, mind and emotions creating health and harmony. A body in health and harmony is pain-free and energetic.

  • Acupuncture is most well known for treating acute and chronic pain. It can also be used to help many other issues like anxiety, depression, insomnia, symptoms of menopause and fatigue/low energy to name a few. Please call or text me if you are curious if acupuncture can help you.

  • In addition to Acupuncture, I offer herbal medicine formulation and cupping.

Herbal medicine can be used to help restore health and relieve pain. Herbal formulas are made from a combination of specific flowers, roots, leaves and various other natural substances. I customize your formula to address your specific imbalance. Formulas are provided in a powdered format for ease of use. The prescribed dose is simply added to boiling water to create a medicinal tea. Capsules are also available for patients who prefer a pill form.

Cupping is a treatment that includes placing cups on the body that create suction along the affected muscles and painful areas. This helps to loosen tight muscles and connective tissue and speed up recovery.

  • I am an out of network provider with insurance companies. If your insurance carrier provides out-of-network coverage, I will provide you with a Superbill for you to submit to your insurance company. This means you will pay the full price for your treatment at the time of service.

After your treatment, you will receive an email with your Superbill attached. Depending on your insurance carrier, you will complete a claim form with the information provided on your Superbill. Some carriers may have you directly email the Superbill to them. Most claim forms can be downloaded from your insurance carrier’s website. If your policy allows for coverage your insurance carrier will mail you a check for the amount they are willing to cover.

These amounts are determined by your policy. I recommend contacting your insurance carrier to request specific authorization for treatment and to answer any questions you may have about coverage prior to your treatment.
